Compare people against a target skill profile
References let you set a target skill profile for a role and then compare people against it. They play two roles in WiseWorld: driving assessment roadmap creation, and standalone comparisons for hiring or team planning.
References and roadmaps
When you create a talent evaluation (assessment) roadmap, you start by creating a reference with a Reference PowerWheel. The AI then generates the entire roadmap based on that reference profile. The reference comes first and shapes the path.
Learning and complete program roadmaps do not require a reference. They are generated from a goal you write. You can still create standalone references in those workspaces for comparison purposes, but they are not part of the roadmap creation flow.
How references work
Create a reference
Name it and describe the role or target profile you want to compare people against.
Generate a Reference PowerWheel
Paste a job description and the AI maps it to skills, or use a strong team member's profile as the benchmark.
Add members
Select workspace members to include in the comparison. Their PowerWheels are compared to the reference.
Review insights
See fit scores, gap analysis, and AI-generated narratives about each person's alignment with the role.
Use cases
Assessment roadmaps
Create a reference first, then generate an assessment roadmap from it. Participants are evaluated against the reference profile as they play episodes.
Hiring
Compare candidates against the role's ideal skill profile. Shortlist based on demonstrated evidence, not just interviews.
Team placement
Find the best fit between people and roles within your organization.
Development gaps
See where individuals need to grow to match a target role they're being groomed for.
Creating roadmaps from existing references
If you already have a reference with a Reference PowerWheel, you can create a new roadmap directly from it. Choose whether you want assessment-only, learning-only, or a mix, and the AI generates the path using the existing reference.
